On Bank Holiday Monday, 6 May, the sun shone on Mill Fold and St Bart’s raised £280 for church funds at Ripponden Gala. This year we launched our new Human Fruit Machine which was great fun and proved a popular attraction. Plants, home-made sweets and buns went down well and were a near sell-out.
The following Friday, just four days later, the weather was so appalling that we packed up early from the charity market stall in Halifax, having raised only £150 for general funds. A week later we held a Beetle Drive which took some of us back to our youth and was an education to some of the younger ones. Pizza and wine helped the evening along and a good time was had by all. Whilst not a fund-raiser per se, another £88 was raised for church funds. Thanks once again to all who participated in any way with any or all of these events.
The results of the 100 Club draw were:
1st £100 Christine Mitton (20)
2nd £50 Shirley Stoker (60)
3rd £25 Joan Fisher (25)
