Early September brought a beautiful day for Rushbearing. All went to plan and the church grounds were packed with visitors, dancers, musicians and, inevitably, the church fund-raising team – £1000 was raised for general funds. Our thanks go to all who visited us and to those who helped in any way to make the day the success it was. The day closed with the annual Songs of Praise service.
The previous week there had been a very successful visit by a U3A group from Stockport who were made very welcome with a talk and refreshments.
On 14 September church was open for Heritage Sunday – there were fewer visitors than we would have hoped for, but those who came all seemed to really enjoy their visit.
On 12 October the Beavers and Brownies joined in the All Age Worship at the Harvest Festival Service. The following pictures show some of the activities which took place. The service was followed by a very enjoyable Brunch for 35 at the Fox.
