January 2013

After another busy year of fund-raising and social events at St Bart’s in 2012, culminating in the successful 3rd winter market on 8 December, the year has got off to a delayed start due to snow.  Last Saturday, 19 January, we reluctantly postponed the Epiphany Supper due to the weather.  It will now be held on 9 February.

The 100 Club now has nearly 70 members so the first draw can be made in February, once all the standing orders and cheques have been processed.  New members are still welcome – the idea is to have 100 members but the scheme becomes viable with 60 or more.  Names of winners will be posted here and in Ryburn Link.

We are now looking for new Editors of Ryburn Link, our very successful parish magazine, to take over from Rosemary and Chris by the summer.  After five years of producing the magazine, 10 times a year, it is time for them to call it a day – their decision, most definitely not ours!  If you are interested in finding out more about what is involved, please get in touch.  Without new Editors, the magazine has a very uncertain future.  It is much enjoyed by both regular and casual readers and is a useful means of communication for the church.  We must do everything we can to secure its future.
